Remembering Our Neighbors
Sisters and friends gathered on February 18 for a Community memorial to remember those who have died alone and without resources. The annual service, sponsored by GRCC—Faith in Action, took place at St. Ambrose Church. Sister Beth LeValley, a member of GRCC's Board of Directors, welcomed guests to the service and invited reflections to honor the more than 20 people who have died since last year. Sisters Judy Greene, Ann Patrice Carrigan, Monica Weis, and Donna Cucci also took part in this year’s service while several other Sisters attended the memorial.
Since 2012, Sister Beth and GRCC along with many volunteers have organized the burials and memorial services for hundreds of people who have died poor, homeless, or without the support of family. If you are interested in learning more about the burial initiative, call GRCC at 585-721-4019.
