AQ Students Commit to SSJ Leadership Program
Nineteen students at The Aquinas Institute participated in a commitment ceremony for the SSJ Women’s Leadership Program on Thursday, December 7. The ceremony provided a chance for a formal acknowledgment, in front of friends and family, of the commitment that the young women are making to the two-year program.
During the ceremony the students acknowledged their “potential to bring change to the world, bring community to Aquinas, and explore their God-given gifts.” Sister Beth Sutter, SSJ Congregational Vice President, delivered remarks on behalf of the Leadership Team, speaking on the importance of being a good leader. Sisters Anita Kurowski and Elaine Hollis also attended the ceremony.
The SSJ Women’s Leadership Program, which began at Nazareth Academy, is offered to young women in grades 10-12 to experience personal growth and develop leadership skills that will help them throughout their lives.
